Lorna Duphiney Edmundson was inaugurated as Wilson's president on Oct. 6, 2001. Prior to her time at Wilson, Edmundson graduated from Columbia University's Teachers College and Columbia's Graduate School of Business executive program. She was a J. William Fulbright Research Scholar to Japan, in residence at Tokyo Women's Christian University. She also served as president of the Association of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC), Trinity College of Vermont, and Vermont chapter of International Women's Forum.

During her tenure, the Harry R. Brooks Center for Science, Mathematics, and Technology was built.
